During the Advent and Christmas concerts, musical treasures from W.A. Mozart and his contemporaries as well as traditional Advent music from the countryside of Salzburg are performed.

Mozart Kammerorchester Salzburg May to October every Thursday, Friday, Saturday Taking place in the most magnificent room in the city - the Golden Hall in the 900 year-old Fortress Hohensalzburg - the "Mozart - Strauss Orchestra Concerts" are unique to Salzburg. The Mozart Chamber Orchestra of Salzburg is a highly professional and internationally sought-after chamber orchestra and plays in a line-up which regularly shifts in size. Deeply steeped in tradition, it predominantly performs the musical treasures of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss.

• Only the golden hall does not provide disabled access for people with limited mobility. All other halls are accessible.

• The fortress is located in the Old City (pedestrian area). Go to the railway station (Festungsgasse 4, 47°47'44''N 13°2'46''E).

Present your voucher to get a ride up for free from 1 hour before concert start.

• The fortress can be reached within about 15 minutes on foot from most of the city’s hotels, we therefore generally advise city hotel guests not to undertake the journey to the area surrounding the fortress with their own car.

• Getting there with a car:

We recommend the Old Town car park “Altstadtgarage” at Hildmannplatz 1, Entry (Einfahrt) B. Then follow in the garage the signpost “FESTUNG/DOM”. The walk to the fortress from there then takes about 10 minutes. After leaving the garage cross the” Toscaninihof” and turn right direction “DOM (big cathedral)”. In front of the DOM you can see on the right sight the fortress at the mountain Mönchsberg. Cross the “Kapitelplatz” which leads into the Festungsgasse.

You can have your parking ticket punched at the evening box office at the entrance to the concert hall. You can then park at a reduced rate.

• You get your original tickets at the evening box (in front of the concert hall). The evening box opens 1 hour before concert starts.
